Really friendly team, made it a pleasure to visit & return. We visited in September last year and came back again in June- dining here twice on each trip. Food good and brilliant value for money, and very friendly service. Would highly recommend
Great beach front restaurant with wide ranging menu of local and international food and really welcoming and very amusing hosts. Food is good and good value and the staff can't do enough to make you feel at home. Music night was great too, good musicians and lots of fun.
Beautiful place by the sea. Hot bread and smears were brought. The risotto was good, but the lyula and barbecue weren't very good, dry. The wine was different from the hotel. The service is unobtrusive. Prices are slightly higher than in neighbouring restaurants.
We had an amazing turkish breakfast lots of choice couldn't eat it all. Had dinner here a couple of times 7 adults and a child plenty of choice to cater for us all. A delicious cake was made for my friends birthday. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Bektaş has lots of stories to tell always on hand to meet your needs. Sedat is a very friendly man always helpful. Jasmin is a lovely lady pays attention to detail. Great service when on the beach too
Visited this charming and very friendly restaurant for lunch whilst visiting Turunc. Good value for money, very friendly and helpful staff. Nice menu to choose from. If you're on a trip over to Turunc from Marmaris or Icemeler then would recommend this place for your lunch break.
Very welcoming staff - good English speakers. Visited twice. Lamb shank, shish kebab, seabass, swordfish on skewer all good. Lovely bread starter and coffee to finish - both free of charge! Smart decor, sea views from the tables. Loungers available to use on beach. Only down side - it was very early in season so very quiet and not much atmosphere.
The best sun beds, warmest welcome and attention to guests but not OTT. On a 10 day holiday we would rarely go back to the same place more than twice, we found this on day one and visited nearly every day. Beko, the owner and Sedat, his chief of staff, are a fantastic team, they treat guests like royalty and I've never seen such hard workers. Beach food is lovely and evening dinners are very high quality and beautifully presented. The sea all along the coast is crystal clear but perhaps bring your beach shoes as it's rather pebbly. Better than average meal but not very good. Didn't tempt us to a return visit. A lovely location on the sea front but we didn't like the interior of the restaurant. We received complimentary hot bread and dips. We had a chicken dish and a ravioli dish. The chicken was good but the ravioli lacked filling and taste and was only average. The red wine was a good standard. Service was good. Prices a few lira more than neighbouring restaurants.
It is very simple: GUNES is not the most beautiful restaurant but it is the one that offers the best cuisine of the whole promenade of Turunc. Both bosses are super friendly: family atmosphere. We ate there 3 times: the fish (a killing the sea Bass) is fantastic, the Turkish dishes are tasty and they know how to prepare pasta as in Italy (very good cooking and preparation). We have tried other restaurants very attractive in terms of decoration but the kitchen is not at all there... Don't waste your time trying unsuccessfully. Go to Gunes! You can go with your eyes closed.
Persuaded by the waiting team to attend the barbecue night on Friday 31st May. I wasn't sure as organised events are not usually my thing particularly being veggie but it was such a fun night with lovely food, attention to detail and such energy from all of the restaurant staff. Highly recommend ❤️
We visited Gunes on a recommendation and it proved to be a good one. The restaurant is in a beautiful spot, overlooking the bay of Turunc. The menu has a good choice of options and the portions are big, so there was no chance of us ordering desserts. The staff are really friendly and made us feel so welcome. Between us, we had dishes including pizza, chicken and lamb. All were delicious and competitively priced. We would love to return.
This has been my favourite restaurant in the Turunc. Beautiful views of the sea and horizon. Lovely for pictures during the sunset. The food here was exceptional. I had the Penne Arribiata with Chilli in the sauce. It was delicious and I went back again and ordered the same dish the next day. They really made their food with love. They are generous with their pouring of wine when ordering a glass off the menu in comparison to nearby restaurants. The staff were absolutely wonderful and their service was friendly and entertaining. I would go back here again and I highly recommend to all
The beach side is individually delightful and the restaurant side is individually delightful. Ms. Yasemin, Bektaş Brayin, our attention and caring made us feel at home. Chef and server Sedat and everyone is very reliable and friendly. You must definitely come
Great service, lovely food. Beach side location. Would highly recommend this family run restaurant in Turunc, Turkey. Visitor can use the sun loungers on the beach at no cost of you buy drinks/dine at the restaurant. We returned a few times during our stay and were never disappointed!
Portion sizes are huge! Menu is the biggest we have seen, so much to choose from. Staff are all very friendly, attentive and funny. The food is absolutely amazing. We ordered 3 mushroom steak, the best steak we have ever tried. The caesar salad was really big, too much for me but amazing fresh quality. The meze was gorgeous and the bread, very filling try not to over eat or you'll be full for your main course. This is the first time we have been here and will definitely be returning, would recommend to anyone.

We have been staying in turunc premium hotel for the week and the food was not too good so thank the heavens for this amazing restaurant. The staff are sooo friendly and incredibly hard working, once we discovered this place we came back every day for lunch and dinner. I'm not the easiest man to please and neither is my other half when it comes to food but I can't fault this place and would recommend this family run business to anyone. Thankyou so much guys it was a pleasure xxx
Decided to go to the BBQ night and had the most fantastic evening. Food was soo good and plentiful. The staff were great! The band that was playing had everyone singing and dancing. Even Pasha the cat made us feel like one of the family and fell asleep on my lap preventing me from leaving (not that I wanted to). Highly recommend visiting
Great staff, great food a really good place to spend some time. The family are really fussy eaters, but these guys managed to accommodate everything for us. Turkish coffee is still excellent and the view of the sea and surrounding areas is amazing.
Our first visit to Gunes and definitely not our last! A most enjoyable evening sitting by the beach having a Turkish BBQ. The staff were very friendly and when not serving kept everyone entertained with fireworks, dancing etc. There was a good trio entertaining us and the restaurant owner joined them to sing later in the evening. The food was excellent, bread to start with 5 relishes, main course, chicken, lamb, beef plus salad, rice, dessert was a plate of prepared fresh fruit.
We had a brief visit to Turunç. After a brief walk we came across this restaurant with a beautiful view. The service was really good, I had the prawn salad. The food was nice as were the drinks. We also received some of the tastiest warm and soft bread. We would visit again if we return to Marmaris

Great food and very good service - all in a perfect location, overlooking the beautiful sea at Turunc. Sometimes the restaurant has special evenings with free entertainment - booking is advised for these. The prices are no more and no less than you'll find elsewhere in town but IMHO the quality here is higher than most. If you're really lucky you might meet Pasha - a very characterful elderly cat who frequents these parts.
It is a very nice restaurant to enjoy the sea and have a snack. I don't think it is expensive, the quality deserves it, the plate decorations and presentations are enjoyable. We would like to thank the waiter friend who entertained our children. I hope you do not compromise on your quality.
First night in Turunc, read all the reviews, had a walk around, tried to book first choice, full up. Booked Gunes on the strength of the reviews, it was brilliant. Friendly and knowledgable, superb food. The mixed fish sounds a bit odd but was perfectly cooked wild bass, no cheap farmed stuff, bream, calamari and prawns. Definitely going back several times…oh the coffee is special, no filthy coffee essence out of a machine
The Turkish BBQ evening in this fabulous friendly family-run restaurant is not to be missed. Dining and service are faultless throughout and the musicians world class. A truly memorable evening full of fun and laughter.
We enjoyed a lovely time being thoroughly looked after by the guys at Gunes. Nothing was too much trouble. We spent many hot and sunny days enjoying the beach on the sun loungers, on probably one of the best spots along that part of the coast. Betcko, Jasmine, Sedat and Rejda (sorry about spelling) were always friendly and welcoming and happy to provide a long supply of cold refreshments. We enjoyed the lunches in the shade as it was over 37 degrees while we were there and the Pide was definitely a favourite (a bit like a pizza but better!) The Friday night BBQ with traditional turkish music and dancing is not to be missed.
We have been visiting this restaurant for a number of years and we have never been disappointed. Beko and staff have become friends to us over the years and, more importantly, the food is delicious and nothing is too much trouble. Try the music night and barbeque on a Friday night for an enjoyable, relaxing evening.
Friendly service, very welcoming. We had lunch once and have also used their beach sun loungers a few times. Nice meal, plenty of choices. Even made a special sandwich for a picky eater. Relatively reasonable. Beach drinks have an okay choice and price.
Lovely food and a very warm welcome. Todays choices were smoked aubergine with vegetables and a Turkish pide with spinach and eggs. All very good. A lovely spot overlooking the bay and beach service if you want it.
I travel to Turunc alone. I am always made to feel very welcome. The food is always beautifully presented. I can thoroughly recommend the melanzane. Thank you for your excellent customer service. Best wishes for the summer.
Great restaurant at the front for an evening meal. Staff friendly and chatty. Very welcoming, food excellent. Bread and pides cooked in a brick oven visible in the restaurant. Like all the business in the village, they've had a tough few years with the pandemic then the forest fires. They work extremely hard to keep their businesses going and deserve everyone's support. They are what makes Turunc special.
Delicious Turkish fare. Very welcoming. Complimentary dips. Great Turkish dishes with lots of veg. Great friendly service and very good value including wine less than €20 a head. Not to be missed.
First time at Gunes .. right on the front it had prime position for customers, food was good, their Garlic Bread is not the traditional 'balloon' that you get, but was really nicely baked and had cheese on top .. a positive for me as my wife doesn't do cheese :-). .. my wife had the grilled meatballs, bit dry when cooked like that but tasty enough, I had a Mixed Pide (more than anything to remind me what a Turkish Pide was !) .. it's a long pizza by any other name, but quite acceptable. Service was attentive without being overly so and all in all we had a good evening.. punctuated by the 'fireworks' at OBA09 next door when some poor soul ordered the stew in a pot .. they never learn :-) Well worth a stop off here.
We tried Gunes to take advantage of the free sunbeds with beach service. The beds where very comfortable with parasols for each pair. Access to the sea was good and a shower available on the beach. We ordered our drinks and they where brought to our loungers. We used the restaurant for our lunch and the quality of the food was excellent. We tried the salads, pies and burgers and where not disappointed. We also had pitta bread with dips for starters to enjoy with a cool Efes. The staff where very friendly and impressed us with the food and service that we booked to return for the BBQ night on Friday. Highly recommended.
Absolutely delicious. Generous portions, excellent service, nice wine and a lovely friendly cat. The hot Meze was really tasty and the vegetable pide was fabulous aswell as being massive. We couldn't eat everything and it was no trouble to get a doggy bag to bring everything home.
We always return to this restaurant. The food and service are always consistent. Here you will find excellent Turkish cuisine and other familiar Mediterranean dishes but for a real treat try the chateaubriand as you won't find this easily elsewhere. Lunches or dinners you won't be disappointed. In these troubled times social distancing between tables could be slightly better.
Ask for Beko. Thats broken english for Bektaş, an agreable bloke from Sıvas, the midst of Anatolia. He is the propreitor of this lovely family establishment, the wife running the kitchen, the son running the floor. Clean, quiet yet attentive, they welcome all sorts of cliantele: english, russian, turks alike. The oven creates wonders but you should certainly try the fish. Day time is well spent on the beach side, however there is live music on friday nights, hence you might want to keep your distance there and then.
Gunes is a fabulous restaurant run by Beko, his wife Jasmine and their very friendly team. The food is excellent as is the service. Very reasonably priced. Don't miss the BBQ night on a Friday with the staff performing and singing. Highly recommended.
Lovely breakfast at Gunes restaurant this morning. Fresh warm bread, a vast selection of dips and jams. More cheese than we could eat, and lovely coffee. Pasha, Beko's cat helped eat the salami.
Really enjoyed the food and entertainment at the bbq night. Everyone worked hard to ensure we all had a really good night. We like to eat somewhere different every night, and ran out of time to return, but would highly recommend.
A lovely restaurant nice food staff really good and helpful. We spent a few days on their beach sunbeds we have tried others but this is the best. Good service and helpful. We went to a live music night it was good and a great laugh. The owner Beko is a lovely and friendly man. Would recommend a visit.
We were welcomed like old friends on our third year of visiting Turunc, the food, drink and hospitality were superb, we were a large group of family and friends age range from 22 to 89.
Had a meal here, staff very attentive in nice surrounding overlooking beach/bay. Really nice meal offering very good value, would definitely return
We have been visitors to turunc for over 10 yrs but havent eaten in here for a long time. However since beko and billy have taken it over what a turn around! The restaurant is now brighter and much more inviting. We ate there four times and food was delicious each time on our last visit we were given mezes starter and chefs homemade baklava dessert included in price of main course. The two brothers are so professional and give every attention to customers and fine detail. Nothing is a bother to them. The young trainees are also very pleasant and helpful and are a credit to the brothers. Don't miss it.
We visited Gunes on 18 May. What a lovely restaurant. We started with a hot mezze then I had Pide and hubby had mushroom steak. The steak was perfectly cooked, came with chips, rice and veg. The Pide was lovely as I knew it would be. What makes this place so great is the warm welcome and the lovely staff. Great view, great food and great owner/staff. Can't wait to visit again next year.
Beko, Yasmine, Reggie and Mustafi were first class hosts every lunchtime and a few evenings, during our fortnight stay in Turunc. Nothing is too much trouble even when we arrived as a group of 15 for our surprise engagement last Sunday night. Garide Gari dance will always be a pleasant memory. Our everyday place to eat, good hospitality & food. Run by Beko & his wife Jasmine, who look after you and with beach drinks service. You can't beat Turkish breakfast overlooking the sea, lunches with a cold drink and moonlit dinners.
Excellent restaurant can't wait to revisit been many times was here in August and just about to go back. Great food lovely staff. Have tried many different dishes and none have disappointed.
